Small businesses are the backbone of strong rural communities. In 2012, I championed legislation that provided tax credits for value added Ag jobs, spoke up for alternate energy development, and encouraged more State support for rural development. I will continue to provide the leadership and support needed for our rural communities to not only survive but thrive.

My role on key committees (Agriculture, Education, and Natural Resources) allows me to work tirelessly on your behalf to ensure our state government is operating efficiently. For government to be effective the public must believe that elected officials, lobbyists, and Legislators are honest and ethical. I will continue to back an Independent Ethics Commission to re-assure public confidence.

As a retired teacher, I know education is the best investment we can make in our future. Thatʼs why I will never stop fighting to make Idahoʼs public schools our number one priority. Embracing technology and supporting classroom teachers is key to preparing Idaho Students for the future and building the world class education our children and communities deserve.
